Abstract Submission How to get to STEP

At the beginning of the 21st century our world is facing serious problems with regards to environment, climate, energy conversion,
raw materials and food. All these global problems are seeking scientific solutions, especially from chemistry, and in this connection
electrochemistry and catalysis are of tremendous importance, in particular for energy conversion and pollution control. It is expected
that the Ertl symposium on Surface and Interface Chemistry will play a significant role in these attempts, and we wish great success
to all the people involved in this enterprise.
