Research Area

Our research goals in ATMOS Lab are geared toward improving our understanding of regional and global tropospheric oxidation chemistry, and its relation to air quality and climate. Field measurements of trace molecules in the air, laboratory process studies, and simple computational modeling can help us to unravel important contemporary issues such as ozone, particle pollution and climate change. Specifically, we are interested in nitrogen oxides and hydrocarbon oxidation processes that results in organic aerosol formation.
We are thus interested in developing field deployable detection methods for atmospheric trace molecule based on spectroscopic and mass-spectrometric techniques.
